The Gambling Regulators European Forum (GREF) and the North American Gaming Regulators Association (NAGRA) held their first joint webinar on April 23, 2024. The webinar aimed to provide their members with valuable insights on the topic “Preventing harm and ensuring safer gambling through regulatory approaches to advertising”, exploring strategies from both sides of the Atlantic.

Speakers from both organisations shared their expertise. Milt Champion, Executive Director of the Maine Control Unit, provided compelling insights into Maine’s regulatory landscape on behalf of NAGRA, while Jonathan Van Damme, Legal Advisor to the Belgian Gaming Commission, presented a comprehensive overview of regulatory approaches to gambling advertising in Europe.

This initiative follows the statement issued by GREF and NAGRA in November 2023, which underlined the commitment of both organisations to foster closer ties between gambling regulators on both sides of the Atlantic.

With 80 participants, the webinar highlighted the value of collaboration and knowledge sharing in addressing gambling regulatory challenges. In keeping with this spirit of sharing knowledge, you will find the GREF presentation attached.
