GREF at ICE Barcelona 2026
02nd February 2026
GREF had a strong presence at ICE in Barcelona last week, taking part in several discussions that brought regulators, researchers, and industry representatives together.
GREF Annual Workshop
Our annual workshop took place on Tuesday afternoon, once again organised in partnership with the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA). This year’s theme focused on what international collaboration looks like in practice – not just in principle.
Anders Dorph, GREF Chair and Director of the Danish Gambling Authority, opened the session with an update on the Nordic Gambling Study. He spoke about the value of a shared research effort across countries, as well as the practical challenges that come with coordinating data collection and methodologies.
Tracy Parker, Senior Vice President for Accreditation, Advisory and Insights at the Responsible Gambling Council, followed with an overview of the Better Gambling Forum and its work to strengthen player protection through shared learning.
The workshop concluded with remarks from Laura McAllister Cox, Chief Compliance Officer at Rush Street Interactive, who reflected on how operators can contribute to more effective regulatory cooperation across borders.
Panel on Perceived Normalisation of Gambling and its Implications
Earlier in the week, on Monday, Anders Dorph and Tim Miller – Executive Director of Research and Policy at the UK Gambling Commission and GREF Treasurer – joined an IAGR–IMGL panel examining the perceived normalisation of gambling and what this means for both the industry and society. Their contributions helped bring a regulatory perspective to a topic that continues to attract significant public interest.
